Cheese Popcorn Snack Recipe

"These great snack reminds me of my high school days," comments Denise Baumert of Dalhart, Texas. "My sisters and girlfriends and I would stay up late, listen to music, talk and munch this crunchy treat."
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 15 min. YIELD:16 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts plain popped popcorn
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  • 1. Place popcorn in two 13-in. x 9-in. baking pans. Drizzle with melted butter. Combine garlic salt and onion salt; sprinkle over popcorn. Top with cheese. Bake at 300° for 5-10 minutes. Serve immediately. Yield: 4 quarts.

"Hey Brownnoser! U obviously have no taste for good snacks, popcorn cover in real cheeses and melted in the oven or microwave isuch tastier than a cheap synthetic powdered imitation! U people just don't know how it's done."

"This "recipe" is a complete waste of time, popcorn, and cheese. You like gooey lumps of cheese making the popcorn soggy? Then this may be the recipe for you. I tried it because I didn't have any cheddar cheese powder. Now, after several attempts, I know better. This recipe is just a mess and it ruins good popcorn."
