- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 pound bacon strips
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 15x10x1-in. pan with foil.
In a shallow bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut bacon strips crosswise in half; dip in sugar mixture to coat. Twist two or three times, then place in prepared pan. Bake until browned and crisp, 15-20 minutes.
- Freeze option: Freeze cooled bacon twists in freezer containers, separating layers with waxed paper. If desired, reheat in a microwave oven or on a foil-lined baking sheet in a preheated 350° oven before serving. Yield: about 3 dozen.
Reviews for Caramelized Bacon Twists
"The flavor on these was good, but they never got crisp, even after 25 minutes in the oven. They were just floppy and sticky and greasy. Next time I will make them on a broiler pan and see if that helps. Maybe it was the brand of bacon, I got it from Costco."
"This just wasn't a hit. Seemed like too much seasoning for the bacon."
"I'm a bacon lover and really enjoyed these bacon twists. They disappeared as fast as I could make them."
