  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 pound bacon strips

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a shallow bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Halve bacon strips crosswise; coat both sides with sugar mixture. Twist, then place in a foil-lined 15x10x1-in. pan.
  2. Bake until crisp and browned, 15-20 minutes. Serve immediately.
  3. Freeze option: Freeze cooled bacon twists in freezer containers, separating layers with waxed paper. To use, thaw in refrigerator overnight. Yield: about 3 dozen.
To use frozen bacon: Bake at 350° for 6-8 minutes or until heated through.

"The flavor on these was good, but they never got crisp, even after 25 minutes in the oven. They were just floppy and sticky and greasy. Next time I will make them on a broiler pan and see if that helps. Maybe it was the brand of bacon, I got it from Costco."
