These were good and didn't last long. I will try a chocolate mix next time. I used m&m's and added pretzel broken up. The possibilities are endless, I will even give this treat as a Christmas gift in a jar idea.

These were Delicious! They come out just like brownies!

My alterations to the recipe were: I used German Chocolate cake mix and added 1 tsp of coconut extract, Qty-15 various "fun" size candy bars left over from Halloween, and 1/2 cup of chopped nuts. I needed to add about a tablespoon or so of water when stirring in the chopped nuts and candy bar pcs because batter was quite thick and difficult to work with. This recipe is a great use of leftover Halloween candy bars. I will be making this recipe now every Halloween!

If you want to save time cutting these use the new snickers bites.

Theres a coupon for them here:

Anyway, I don't use Egglands Eggs but these are really good.

My little sister goes absolutely crazy for them.

I've used this recipe from time to time and I think it's GREAT! I've also found that I can use different types of miniature candy bars besides Snickers Bars! Actually the first time I started preparing these bars was back in 2003/2004! I'd prepare them for our youth group each month! I also made them again 8/14/13 and took them to the Volunteer Resources Dept. today as I volunteer for the local hospital! The bars were well received! I've used either a yellow cake mix or a Golden Butter Cake Mix! I used miniature candy bars-about 1 cup, chopped: I used a combination of Snicker's bars, Babe Ruth mini candy bars, and mini Nestles' candy bars to equal about 1 cup! I also added 1 tsp. vanilla extract for flavoring! I did grease and flour my baking pan-for me, I've found that the bars are easier for me to remove from the baking pan! I baked 25 minutes and used a cake tester to test the bars! Thank you, Amy Voights, for sharing this scrumptious recipe! delowenstein

These were excellent!! I love the taste of cake, but I am sometimes in the mood for something more travel-friendly. These held together wonderfully. I did spray the pan with non-stick spray before spreading the mix in so they did not stick at all. I will try this with different candies next time. The Snickers seemed to get a little chewy on the parts where the caramel touched the bottom of the pan.
