Candied Carrots Dish Recipe
- 4 cups sliced carrots
- 3 tablespoons reduced-calorie pancake syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
- 1. Place 1 in. of water in a large saucepan; add carrots, Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 7-9 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain.
- 2. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, until most of the liquid has evaporated. Yield: 6 servings.
3/4 cup: 66 calories, 1g fat (0 saturated fat), 2mg cholesterol, 286mg sodium, 15g carbohydrate (0 sugars, 3g fiber), 1g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 2 vegetable.
