Buttermilk Wheat Bread

TOTAL TIME: Prep: 10 min. Bake: 3 hours YIELD: 1 loaf (2 pounds).
The buttermilk gives this bread a wonderfully unique taste and a pretty golden crust.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Directions

  • 1. In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order given. Select "white bread" setting. Bake according to bread machine directions.
