Buttermilk Ice Cream Shake Recipe
Milkshakes are a wonderful treat in the hot summer months. This classic milkshake is my favorite.—Doris Stebbins, St. Johnsbury, Vermont
- 3 cups chilled buttermilk
- 1/2 cup cold lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- Dash ginger
- 1. Combine all ingredients; blend or shake well. Serve with ginger. Yield: 3 servings.
1 serving (1 cup) equals 326 calories, 7 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 29 mg cholesterol, 342 mg sodium, 59 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, 10 g protein.
