Reviews for Buffalo Chicken Dip
"Amazing recipe! This is my "go to" when asked to bring an appetizer!"
"We thought this was delicious! I wish I had thought to get some french baguette slices because that would have tasted so good. We used pita chips. Few minor tweaks: I used shredded rotisserie chicken, and for the cheese I did 3/4 mozzarella, 1/4 cheddar. This was so simple and so easy. I'll make this again!"
"Nothing irks me more than people rating a recipe with 1 star and then saying they haven't even made it yet. I haven't made this but giving it 5 stars, #1 based on the great reviews, #2 to make up for the person who gave it 1 star and hadn't made it. I am making it this weekend for the Superbowl and I'm sure it will be fantastic!"
"Very tasty! This recipe is pretty similar to another version that I have made several times, except this one is layered instead of mixed all together. The only thing I did differently was to season the chicken mixture well with salt and pepper, onion and garlic powders, and parsley. I did also mix the hot sauce with the shredded chicken layer. Next time I will cover with aluminum foil and not let the cheese get too browned, so that it doesn't form a harder layer on top for the chips to cut through. Otherwise great recipe! Thank you!"
"This is delicious. The only thing I do differently is I top with cooked bacon that I chop. Delicious! A crowd favourite. As a Volunteer Field Editor for TOH, I enjoy testing various recipes!"
"I make this all the time and it's so popular! Even my non-cream cheese loving husband enjoys it. Agree that canned chicken makes it so easy, and blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing from a bottle is important. The buffalo sauce also matters, so get a good brand!"
"This recipe was a hit at my most recent Christmas party. The flavors are amazing and work together so well! The dip is really easy to make too!"
"I made the recipe according to directions with shredded rotisserie chicken from Costco, Texas Pete Buffalo wing sauce and Hidden Valley Ranch prepared dressing because it is what I had on hand. It came out okay. The flavor was good, but not great. I think if I were to make it again would use blue cheese dressing, and possibly even add some additional crumbled blue cheese, and a dash of Siracha maybe? I agree on the canned Kirkland chicken, very good and offers so many possibilities especially when trying to "whip" something up :)"
"I'm shocked at how many people here pooh-pooh the canned chicken. They clearly have never bought and eaten Costco Kirkland canned chicken breast. It's delicious, flavorful and I use it for chicken salad, white chicken chili, and appetizers like this. It's waaaaay more flavorful and meaty than a chicken breast! If you've never tried this inexpensive, nutritional and delicious canned chicken, try it. It's nothing like grocery store canned chicken and it's in lovely 7 ounce cans!"
"Love this dip. I actually have cravings for it. I use 4oz cream cheese and 4oz sour cream and mix with a1/2 packet of dry ranch dressing mix. I grill chicken breast tenders on a Forman grill. Shred cooked chicken with a hand mixer. Mix chicken with hot sauce. Top cream mix with chicken, top chicken w/cheese and top cheese w/blue cheese crumble. After baking, I garnich w/chopped green onion."
"This is so delicious my family devoured it! Wasn't a scrap left. Can't wait to make it again!"
"It's a favorite! I put everything in my crockpot and cook on high 1-2 hours, then turn to low for serving. I use 2 cups rotisserie chicken, Franks Red Hot sauce (and use less), 1 1/2 cups cheese and I use 1/4 cup ranch dressing with 1/4 cup sour cream. I really like the creaminess the sour cream adds. I also season the dip with some salt, pepper and onion powder. Frito scoops, pretzels, tortilla scoops and pita chips are all great with this."
"This is a top notch buffalo chicken dip recipe. Only thing I do different is use real chicken instead of the canned cause I just don't like that canned chicken. I cook 1lb of boneless skinless breasts in a frying pan - chopping and mashing while frying in Pam, and then use that in the recipe instead of the canned. I serve w/ tortilla chips."
"Easy and tastes great."
"I didn't change a thing and this recipe turned out perfect. This is definitely a crowd pleaser. I will be making this often when I have to entertain."
"Added a little more rotisserie chicken breast, other than that I followed the recipe. Everyone loved it!"
"Yummmm! Doubled up on the meat but followed instructions otherwise. This is a keeper!"
"This recipe is easy to whip up and easy to play with the ingredients and still have a delicious dip. I made 4x the recipe for a party tomorrow. I'm serving with celery and carrot sticks and tostitos scoops. I prefer crunchy or soft baguettes to the tostitos. Roast chicken is the tastiest version of chicken but you can't beat the convenience of the can. I love blue cheese dressing but my family enjoys ranch. I did mix the ingredients and sprinkled some cheese on top.I can't wait to eat it and hear the rave reviews."
"Yum, everyone who loves spicy dip enjoys this at my worship center. I use an organic homemade Ranch dressing instead of the non-kosher bottled Ranch."
"Excellent! Stirred together the ingredients instead of layering them. Served with pita chips. I imagine it would have been really good with celery sticks too...just didn't have any celery on hand today."
"I've always loved this dip. I first had it in Ohio, but I forgot how to make it. This was really good. I made one with fresh cooked tuna in place of canned chicken, and I also accidentally bought sour cream the second time instead of cream cheese. Honestly, it tasted better with these substitutes, and it wasn't as heavy."
"I love this dip and my family loved it too, i used a crusty bread with it. AWESOME DIP!"
"Need to mix all ingredients together, including the shredded cheese, then place in shallow dish to bake. When cheese melts on top, it's very hard to dip into, even with Triscuits. If it's mixed together, you don't have to fight through top cheese layer that's really thick. It's got fabulous flavor though."
"I made this on Christmas Eve. Everyone enjoyed it. Very easy to throw together."
"My sister in law made this for us and it is AWESOME! Making it this weekend for Superbowl!"
""I am from Buffalo, and let me tell you, this dip is very popular around here! When I make it, I soften 8 oz. cream cheese in the microwave and then stir in 2 cups fresh, cooked chicken breast, shredded; 4 oz."Frank's Red Hot" cayenne pepper sauce; 1 cup ranch dressing. Put that in a deep pie pan and cook in microwave until hot. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and cook a little more until cheese melts. I serve it with "Triscuits" and " Tostitos Scoops." The important part is to use " Frank's" instead of chicken wing sauce, at least it is around Buffalo!"
"My family absolutely loves this dip! I take this often to my women's meeting at church and every time someone wants the recipe. I do have stomach issues though, so I only put 1/4 cup of the wing sauce and put 3/4 cup of the ranch dressing. Will be making it for Superbowl this Sunday."
"Can't review it yet, but do want to make this for my coworkers; midnight shift is difficult to work and be fully alert, so we like to have good things to eat all around the ICU. This would definitely win many of the co's over; I'd use rotisserie chicken from my favorite grocery store--not fond of canned chicken at all--and blue cheese (it's allowed in Michigan, but not in my personal repertoire!)."
"I just substituted blue chees dressing for ranch dressing. I don't believe they even allow ranch dressing in Buffalo. ha ha"
"This was easy to make and very tasty. I would reduce the buffalo wing sauce when I make it again as I just thought it was too spicy for my taste."
"Delicious! I had some leftover cooked chicken that I diced and used instead of canned. I don't think this lasted more than 30 minutes on the table. Next time I will double the recipe!!! Thanks for a great recipe!!!"
"Always the first appetizer gone at my get togethers. I've learned to make a double batch every time!"
"It was just "ok" for my family. The flavor was average."
"Yum. Just perfect."
"I have made this more times tan I can count and the dish is always licked clean!!! It is always a quick go-to when I have unexpected friends to drop by."
"Awesome! Easy to make and delicious!"
"I had one leftover chicken breast so I simply layered what I thought was appropriate amounts of the ingredients into a bowl and microwaved it. Wow! If it's that good without the exact measurements, I can't imagine how good it will be when I make it for guests."
"It's just so wrong how GOOD this is! It's good with both ranch and bleu cheese dressings. Delicious!"
"Any advice on what to do about the large amount of 'oily-grease' that collects on the top?"
"Was a hit with everyone except my daughter who does not enjoy spicy/hot food! Great dip!"
"I made this for the Super Bowl and it was really good. I did use some cooked chicken I had instead of canned. Everyone liked it. We served with Tostitos Multigrain Scoops. Very easy, too!"
"I made this today for the Super Bowl and my gosh, was it ever good! Actually it was addicting. I made it exactly as the recipe says and wouldn't change a thing, it is a keeper!"
"it's okay. I wouldn't make again."
"Reply to Phillyred16 When I make this dish I ues Frank's Red Hot. You can purchase at any grocery store. I also use a store bought (in deli section) rotisserrie chicken. This dish is always a huge hit."
"Where do you get the chicken wing sauce?"
"I've always been a huge fan of buffalo wings (who isn't?) and when I saw this dip I had to give it a try. The first time I made it I followed the recipe to a "T". And it was good but I decided to make a couple substitutions to suit my family. Instead of ranch dressing I used blue cheese dressing, and instead of the Monterrey-Jack cheese blend I went with a mozzarella and cheddar blend. And it was good! Also sometimes instead of using tortilla chips I use Doritos :)"
"Any recipe using ranch dressing should not rightfully be called "Buffalo chicken" style. In Buffalo we do not use ranch with our wings or wing-flavored dishes....true Buffalonians use blue cheese only!"
"I use bacon ranch dressing .. and its a hit everytime:)"
"I make this dip and it is awesome. Thanks for sharing"
"This buffalo chicken dip recipe is too easy, and too delish! With only 5 ingredients, I suppose the most daunting task would be cooking the chicken, but I happened to have left over chicken...I love cooking extra food specifically for things like this. I made it for a family gathering and they loved it!"
"My spicy food loving family finished this off in no time. Taste like a combination of hot wings and jalapeno poppers, I made mine up the night before to save on prep time and popped it in the oven when I was ready to serve. The canned chicken is a timesaver but it is also good to boil one chicken breast till done and shred. Will definately make again!"
"The first time I made this it was just ok. The second time I used fresh shredded chicken, and added some blue cheese sprinkles when the dip was hot from the oven. What a difference, the blue cheese really pumped up the flavor!! Serve it with a sturdy cracker or chips and some celery on the side, really good."
"Super easy, extra tasty! Replaced the ranch with blue cheese dressing, and served with celery, carrots and fritos. Great party food!"
"I didn't have plain cream cheese on hand so I used Onion and Chive flavored. This came out delicious! I served it with sliced rustic baguette. I will definitely be making this again!"
"Very tasty! I used baked, seasoned chicken breast instead of the canned."
"I used reduced fat cream cheese and 2% cheese and served with tortillas."
"I love this cheesy spicy dip. I made it to share with friends! They really enjoyed it."
"Good, but not great"
"Amazing, made it for a party and it was a hit!"
"I have my own version, that does not use salad dressing and canned chicken. Canned chicken is horrible, I use a rotisserie chicken and shred the meat off the bone with a fork making sure to not include skin. I just use 2 cups cheddar, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 cup Franks and bake. The dressing and canned chicken make it mushy and slimey."
"this is so so easy to make and it is wonderful!"
"Great...I mixed everything together and topped with blue cheese...I softened cream cheese in microwave for 30 seconds so it would blend smoothly...thanks to everyone for sharing their tips"
"It was okay."
"Yum! A big hit on New Year's Eve. I followed some advice I'd read in the comments before me by mixing the chicken with the wing sauce and after putting the cream cheese on the bottom I layered the rest of the ingredients twice."
"The first time I made this the cheese (like others have said) turned crusty on top and hard to get through. Now I just leave the cheese out, don't really need it! I use 1/2 cup of the Franks Hot Sauce and use blue cheese (ranch isn't Buffalo LOL) and use celery for dippers. Excellent!!!"
"I've made this before, but accidentally mixed it ALL together, not realizing that I had to layer it. It turned out good anyway!"
"this recipe is direct knock-off from a recipe by a name-brand wing sauce company. Coincidentally, I made their recipe just last night. The only difference is their recipe called for blue cheese dressing and 1/2 cup of blue cheese crumbles in the mixture. This version is very delicious."
"The first time I made this, I followed the recipe and did the layering gig. The next time I made it, I decided to blend the dressing, buffalo sauce, chicken, and half the shredded cheese together and spread it over the cream cheese, adding the remaining shredded cheese on top of the mixture to melt while it baked. My family likes that alot better, and so do our friends, who always ask that I make it for Super Bowl, Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve, and even camping! I'll pretty much make it for any gig that we have, and I always make sure to have plenty of tortilla chips and copies of the recipe on hand, because both will be gone within five minutes!"
"i have made this time and time again, seems no one gets tired of it, always requested."
"My family loved this dip. It was very quick and easy to make. Will make many times more."
"After seeing others' reviews about the cheese layer getting hard and tough to cut through, I decided that rather than layering to instead combine all ingredients and bake it. Though my cream cheese was well softened and I blended it all together thoroughly, I ended up with small cream cheese chunks and strange consistency. Everyone loved the flavor, but the texture and look was off-putting. Just thought I'd pass along that 'warning' to anyone else considering the same. Next time I'll follow the recipe, maybe layer the shredded cheese."
"I made this and used rotisserie chicken instead of canned. It came out of the oven with grease floating on the top and the cheese mixture curdled. A big disappointment!"
"Delicious! I mixed the chicken and wing sauce together as a layer, used blue cheese dressing instead of ranch, and baked in a 1-1/2 quart dish - I think 1 quart would have been too small. 25 minutes was perfect!"
"Any buffalo chicken recipe should have blue cheese dressing, not ranch."
"This is one of my favorite go-to recipes for parties. I have been asked for this recipe at least a dozen times. It is always a hit!"
"It is a recipe not a spelling bee - also to each there own, everyone has there own taste"
"I actually got this recipe from my son who made this for a superbowl party last year . I thought it had a very good taste and did not require alot of work.I will make this again this year"
"I added a little semi cooked chopped celery and used bleu cheese dressing instead."
"Wow, I've made this 4 times now! My friends now request that i bring it to any gathering. This is the perfect blend of ranch and wing sauce...heated well it's great on crackers or chips!"
"I served this easy-to-make dip on 2 occasions over the holidays, and everyone raved over it, and asksed for the recipe."
"This recipe was a bit too spicy for me when I tried it, but my family of hot-and-spicy lovers thought it was really great. I liked it must better the next day when we mixed the leftover portion all together and reheated it. It had mellowed overnight and mixing it meant I didn't receive a blast of spice. This one is a keeper."
"Just made this for our New Years Party and it was a huge hit. Everyone says I need to double the batch next year!"
"Oh so good! enough said. :)"
"It was good and enjoyed by others. I think I need to give it another try. Mine didn't taste the way I remember it tasting."
"Wow...did my family love this. It was gone within 1/2 hour...I didn't even get to try it."
"This is easy and very delicious! I made the recipe lower fat by subsituting 1/3 lower fat cream cheese, and a 2% Colby Jack for the original ingredients, and also used a "light" ranch dressing. The dip still tasted great!"
"IT IS NOT BUFFALO IF IT HAS RANCH IN IT!!! BLEU CHEESE PEOPLE! (And yes, bleu cheese is spelled bleu, not blue)"
"My niece made this for Christmas. She substituted blue cheese dressing for the ranch. It was delicious on celery sticks!"
"I served this over the weekend and received rave reviews. People couldn't stay out of it. Will definately make it again, but will use a bigger dish so it is spread out more."
"Being from Buffalo NY, we make this all of the time but with some changes. First of all we use real chicken breasts that we boil, cool and then shred. To that we add the hot sauce and spread that over the cream cheese. Next, real chicken wings are served with Bleu Cheese, so we use Bleu Cheese dressing not ranch. Then we top it with just shredded cheddar cheese. bake as stated in the recipe, serve with tortilla chips."
"Awesome, didn't change a thing. Always take a copy of the recipe w/me when I take this to pitch-ins, everyone wants the recipe."
"I have made this recipe for years, always a favorite of everyone. I do not spread the layers but rather mix it all together and sprinkle cheese on top. I actually quit the cheese to save calories and it is still delicious"
"i have one almost like this and every time i make this somebody wants the recipe"
"Everyone raved about this dip and even the teenagers had to have a copy of the recipe."
"By using this in a crock pot letting all ingredients melt slowly. I also put just a little wing sauce in at a time to make sure it is not too spicey. I take this everywhere and if I have a family get together you can bet everyone ask me to make extra so they can take some home with them. The crock pot allows it to stay warm throughout the get together."
"Sooo....UPDATED review... :)I stuck with the same amount of hot sauce (Franks Red Hot:about 1/3 to 1/2 cup and this time layered the cheese throughout, AND I used the new Philadelphia Cooking Creme and it was UNBELIEVABLE! The cooking creme was much smoother to work with and the layered cheese made it to where it was cheesy throughout instead of just being a layer on the top....omg...YUM! :)"
"A fav. among my co-workers! Throw all the ingredients in a crock pot about an hour before you need the dip, mix a couple of times & ta-da, you're good to go!"
"I made this with a homemade wing sauce and it came out way too hot, but was it delicious!! Next time I will cut back on the amount of wing sauce for more moderate heat level. Also, I mixed the ingredients together instead of layering them, and melted cheese on top."
"So good! Make copies of the recipe because whenever you serve it you will be asked!"
"My husband and his friends loved it! I will be making it again :)"
"I have made this recipe for Bring to Shares 4X, mainly because it is Such a big hit! All gone quickly! Will continue to make. No changes except for shredded rotissure chicken."
"We make this all the time except I put it in a crockpot and use 2 packages of cream cheese. I serve with frito scoops! Yum"
"Very easy and delicious! Tried it out just for a late snack. Definatley will make for company/parties"
"Haven't made it yet, but I can't wait. I will substitute my own cooked and shredded chicken breast, and I will probably increase the amount to about a pound or slightly less. I will make one batch with ranch, and one batch with blue cheese. My family and I have always liked Frank's buffalo wing sauce, so that's what I'll use. I might add a little partially cooked celery also. I'm excited for the super-bowl party!"
"I've made this recipe for years. But to make it even better substitute chunky blue cheese dressing for the ranch. Blue cheese and buffalo wings are a match made in heavan..."
"I have been making this recipe for many years and my family loves it. I make it weekly. I also tweaked the recipe a little by adding soaked dried onions and deleting the cheese. Works either way you want it."
"Simple to put together and tasty. This is dip is always a huge hit at parties."
"I don't use canned chicken like the recipe suggests...I get 2 chicken breasts and cook in a pan with olive oil and a cajun seasoning. After it's cooked I let it cool and then shred it. I also use Frank's hot sauce...NOT the wing sauce! It makes a HUGE difference! Everyone LOVES this recipe..even people that don't like spicy foods will eat it...lol!! It's a huge hit!"
"Too high in sodium. Anyone know how to reduce the sodium in this recipe?"
"This is a Frank's Red Hot recipe...........they send it out with coupons around x-mas time."
"I use blue cheese dressing and I put mine in a crockpot."
"Always a hit! I like to stir up the layers a bit more than the recipe calls for."
"I ADDED HABENERO SAUCE TO THE TOP THAT HAS A KICK"
"Easy to make. Everybody loved it."
"Everytime I make this appetizer it is gone before anything else, simply amazing!!!!!"
"I only get invited to parties if I bring this recipe!!!! Do not go past this one with out trying it!!!"
"Very simple and it tastes great! Always a big hit at parties!"
"A hit every time and super easy to make. Had to make it twice in one night it went so fast."
"Have made this many times as it is my most requested dips to bring to a party. Great recipe."
"This recipe is fantastic! I used fresh chicken breast that I cut into cubes and cooked with a little olive oil and fresh, not bottled, ranch dressing. Everyone at the party raved about it. This must be served hot because as it cools the cheese gets a little hard on top, though it didn't stop my guests from eating every bit of it and it was the first dish at the party to be devoured. Make losts of copies of the recipe because you will get a lot of requests for it!"
"Excellent dip everyone that has tried loves it and it is easy to make"
"this dip is great I make it all the time and people always have me make it whenever we go to a party :)"
"Our houseguests raved about this so much that I had to print out the recipe from TOH so they could take it home to Chicago and make it for themselves. A big hit!"
"It is wonderful. Made it for a family reunionAnd everyone wanted the recipe."
"I've made this several times, with the only change being I've substituted bleu cheese dressing for ranch. Very easy to make and always a big hit."
"I make this all the time with slight variation. I use Blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles. I do not top with cheddar. It is wonderful. Always a hit and always the first thing to disappear!"
"This dip is AWESOME!!! I have made it a number of times (and been asked for the recipe every time). I used Red Hot Wing Sauce, but if that is too hot you can use whatever strength of hot sauce you like. I actually mix everything together in a bowl. With the wing sauce and dressing a fork works great. It leaves the cream cheese sort of chunky so you get the pockets of cool creaminess throughout the finished dip. I put it in a shallow baking dish and sprinkle some chedder cheese over the top to finish it. I think I might try some blue cheese next time. Again this is so awesome and goes over SUPER good."
"At first I didn't think I would like eating that much sauce and dressing, but it tastes soooo good! I make mine with more chicken than the recipe calls for and blue cheese, not the ranch. I crave this dip often!"
"I absolutely love this dip! Easy to halve the recipe and microwave for 3 minutes for a quick snack or lunch. Awesome with pork rinds, too."
"I absolutely love this dip!"
"Everyone loved this recipe, I made it two days in a row for family cookouts over Memorial day!I used Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce, which was a great choice, and I put the cheese throughout the dip so it wasn't so thick on top. I also mixed the ranch dressing and chicken in with the cream cheese to avoid having the solid block of cream cheese on the bottom."
"Super easy and delicious. First time I made it I baked it as recommended. After it cooled it became difficult to eat without it breaking my chip. But then I started making it in a crock pot. Just as easy and great for parties. Everyone loved it."
"Loved this recipe and it is so umbelievely quick to make, used wing sauce instead of hot sauce and layered the cheese throughout."
"Make this recipe every time we have a get together and never have any leftovers. We use the Franks Buffalo Wing Sauce, great recipe!"
"This is a great low-carb recipe and is a hit at parties! Love it!"
"I made this on superbowl sunday for an extra snack! It was SO fast and easy to make! A huge hit also! We love buffalo flavored things in this house, so it went quickly! We used Franks buffalo wing sauce."
"A favorite. So easy, and it always gets rave reviews!"
"Great recipe! We make this every time we have a get-together and there is never any left!"
"I agree with Sam28's post. It IS supposed to be hot and the cheese on the top was a little thick once it cooled down. Will either use less shredded cheese or will layer it throughout the dish next time round."
"Amazing and super easy!"
"This is a family favorite! I modified this recipe for my family's tastes, leaving out the cream cheese and using a little extra ranch dressing. It's delicious and super-easy to throw together."
"I left off the cheese feeling it would be too much, and it turned out wonderfully, I also microwaved mine for a couple minutes instead of baking it. I will deff. make this again."
"Made with 1/4 cup wing sauce because that's all I had. Can't imagine it would be edible with any more.Tasted okay. We prefer breaded chicken tenders with a milder wing sauce. This is a good alternative to bleu cheese wings though. No one in our family likes bleu cheese."
"So I made this for New Years Eve and it was quite the hit! I also used Franks Red Hot sauce (around a 1/2 cup) and homemade ranch. I thought it was the perfect amount of spice. I see all these reviews with people complaining about it being to spicy and laugh because thats how its SUPPOSE to be! :)If you can't stand the heat... LOLThe only thing I will change next time is to maybe divide the shredded cheese and layer it throughout because the whole amount on top was really thick and once it started to cool it was hard to get through, so I had to break it up with a fork. It was a minor nuisance though and the flavor far made up for it. Absolutely awesome! Give it a try."
"I do not like hot sauce, but my Family does. I made this for a NYE party and it was a big hit. Used a mini crock pot and it was very easy and the texture was good. I added a bit more cheese, and that made it thick and yummy."
"I used franks red hot sauce (not the wing sauce) and the 1/2 cup was too much even for my husband who loves that stuff. Probably would have been a little better with the wing sauce because it would be a bit tamer, but I dont know. I think I would still cut back some. And mine has a watery middle, but all in all its a good dip."
"We prefer blue cheese dressing so we used that instead of ranch. Also used mozzarella but Colby-Monterey Jack cheese or, as some suggested, pepper Jack would probably be great too. GREAT RECIPE!"
"Best dip ever! Very spicy and great with Texas Pete. For less spicy, cut back on 1/3 cup of Texas Pete and 1/2 cup Blue Cheese. Also good with slices of french bread. YUMMMMY!"
"This has become my go to recipe for parties. I use Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce. Along with the tortilla chips, I serve celery, for that authentic buffalo wing taste!"
"Where can buffalo wing sauce be purchased? Thank you."
"WE ALSO LOVE THIS DIP. I USE A LITTLE OF SOUR CREAM MIXED WITH THE RANCH AND I ADD BACON BITS,I HAVE ALSO USED WING SAUCE ON MINE , WHICH I PREFERR."
"Another family favorite. I like to use chicken breasts and dice those up. Reqeusted a lot!"
"This is very easy and very good. My husband loved it! Will make again."
"I used my 1.5 quart slow cooker for this dip. Worked wonderful.. Very simple and delicious dip."
"I use this in the crock pot letting all ingredients melt slowly. I also put just a little wing sauce in at a time to make sure it is not too spicey. I take this everywhere and if I have a family get together you can bet everyone ask me to make extra so they can take some home wiht them. The corck pot allows it to stay warm throughout the get together."
"I got this recipe from a friend and also loved it, as did everyone who ate it! One question, how do you make it in a crock pot? Do you stir all the ingredients together, no cheese on top? thanks"
"This is the best buffalo chicken dip I've ever made. Everyone loves it and the dip is gone before anything else. It's also VERY easy!"
"I love this recipe and have made it many times. Everytime there is a potluck my friends request it!"
"Ditto all the positive comments. A definite keeper!"
"I've made this several times and everyone loves it. I serve with a side of celery sticks and a small dish of ranch dressing."
"My goodness . . . SO easy and delicious! Kids and adults LOVE it! I'm looking forward to trying different variations suggested (ex. blue cheese crumbles)."
"I'm a Buffalonian, born and bred..make this all the time. Use blue cheese dressing or crumbled..more authentic"
"Have been making this for years. Double it and make a day in advance in a slow cooker. It tastes better the second day. Serve with celery sticks - the cool celery and the spicy, hot dip compliment each other so well! Franks hot sauce works great, if you can't find the buffalo"
"Once you start eating it, you can't stop. Yummy! Ran out of chips with still a little dip leftover so I mixed the remaining dip into some pasta. That was very good too."
"Loved this recipe! Have had requests for the recipe already. I used all low fat ingredients, and no one could tell the difference. Very easy, and tasty."
"Very easy to make & very tasty! Made this for a packer game. Everyone ate it up! Yummy!"
"I only substituted my own boiled chicken breasts instead of canned. It was wonderful."
"This is SO good and SO easy! I, too, made it in the microwave for the IOWA vs ISU game!! What a HIT!! This is a KEEPER! :)"
"I find this is a popular dip for all, it's delicious and easy to make!! I've been told it's a good manly dip!!"
"I used bleu cheese dressing. Family loved it."
"I have been making using this recipe for a couple of years and am still being asked to bring it to get togethers. Our family does prefer the bleu cheese dressing over the ranch. I've never actually baked it in the oven, instead I microwave it and serve it out of a dip size crock pot. It isn't as pretty as the picture but still very delicious!"
"I've tried this both with ranch and blue cheese dressing. The blue cheese is much better. I've also added some partially cooked chopped celery which makes it even better. It adds a nice crunch and lots of flavor."
"I made this for a super bowl part and everyone loved it. I did substitue Marie's Blue Cheese dressing instead of the ranch dressing. I had some left over and brought it to the office - what a hit!"

"very good recipe! I have used another version which calls for 20 oz chicken, 5 tbsp franks red hot sauce, whole jar of marie's blue cheese drsg. I like that a bit better."
"I get requests from family and friends to make this at every occasion. I mix it all up together, use chedder cheese instead of Colby-Monterey Jack, then bake in the oven 25 minutes. It will be at our Super Bowl party and a birthday party the Friday before."
"I made this when my oven was broken by putting it in the microwave until it bubbled and it was declared "awesome" anyway!"
"My hwole family (small children included) love this dip! Definitely make a DOUBLE batch though as it will NOT feed 16 in my house! 6 people ate the whole thing in 1/2 an hour!"
"WE USE TEXAS PETE WING SAUCE WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE SAME PLACE AS HOT SAUCE. IT'S SPICY AND MAKES THE DIP GREAT!"
"I've made this recipe for a few years and have tried different variations of the sauce. Franks has a few new sauces and I've tried most of them and everyone still raves about the dip. I do microwave it and then keep it in a crock pot to keep hot!!"
"I love this recipe! I use blue cheese dressing instead of the ranch and plain hot sauce instead of hot wing sauce. Also very good served with celery to dip."
"I made this dip for a new years eve party...my family loved it! I followed another users advice and used extra chicken (about 15oz total) and used blue cheese instead of ranch. Served it with tortilla chips and ritz crackers. It was definitely a hit!"
"This stuff is so very good! I usually double or triple the recipe and use the chicken in a basket crackers, the flavore really goes well with the dip. Yum!"
"I get asked to make this recipe for every birthday celebration at work. Once you start eating it you just can't stop!!!"

"I had this yesterday at work on Friday the 13th we had a theme carry-in where we all had to bring in a new recipe SCARY for the 13th..we had a young man college intern who made this and it is FAB_U LOUS!!! I bought all the ingredients but am second guessing myself..he said he used franks hot sauce "to taste" but this recipe is the same but it uses "buffalo wing sauce" I saw the "hooters" brand wing sauce at my local Kroger..any suggestions on which I should use from anyone who has made this? THANKS!!"
"i have also served it in a crock pot to keep it warm for long football games, still good to the last bite."
"I love this recipe! I use blue cheese dressing instead of ranch and blue cheese crumbles instead of colby-jack. I also use two 9 oz. cans of chicken. I tried it with cooked shrimp the other day and it was just as yummy!"
"We all just love this dip. I do add more chicken----either a 12.5 oz. can or a 10 oz. can and a 5 oz. can. Everywhere I have taken it I have had requests for the recipe. I make Italian bread in the bread maker and slice the bread slices into quarters and serve it with the dip. We have been known to have this is a meal. Our mail handler was at an event where I brought it and she left a note in the mailbox requesting the recipe."
"I mix all the ingredients together and heat on the stove top. It works just as well. It goes so fast in our family I always make a double batch."

"I made this for my family (16 adults)and everyone loved it"
"great , will try this , thanks"
"i make this alot.it is so easy and good.i use mexican cheese in ours"
"I've made a similar recipe before, you can replace the Ranch Dressing with Bleu Cheese dressing which is typically served with traditional "Buffalo" wings. Also, you can experiment with other kinds of shredded cheese, I use cheddar and mozzarella. Delicious!Jenna, Buffalo, NY"
"Traditional Buffalo wings are made with Frank's Hot Sauce, which looks like watery ketchup, but is made with cayenne peppers. Look for it in the ketchup aisle. If you can't find Frank's, look for another brand with cayenne peppers as the first ingredient.Joan from Buffalo"
"What is buffalo wing sauce? Brand name? Looking forward to trying this recipe. Thanks!Joan"
"I use Blue Cheese dressing instead of the ranch. My whole family requests this dip for get togethers! Really yummy! Use thick chips as it's pretty thick. We like baked pita chips."
"I use cooked breast meat, Chunky Blue Cheese Dressing and Mozzarella Cheese and blend all with the softened cream chees WITH 1/3 cup Franks hot sauce. Franks website has the recipe I use. I serve it with Tostitos Scoops and Frito's scoop-like chips. Better double the recipe because if you don't everyone will wish you did........."
"I just love this recipe but try using cooked chicken breasts instead of canned, it tastes much better."
"I also replace the ranch dressing with bleu cheese dressing, but I also use my mixer and mix the cream cheese, bleu cheese and wing sauce together - spread on the bottom of the pan and add the chicken and some extra wing sauce, then top with cheddar cheese. The mixture on the bottom makes it easier to dip with breaking your chips!"
"I make the recipe using blue cheese dressing in place of the ranch dressing. It's adds a little tang, like a buffalo wing."
"All I can say is yummmmmmy! My husband said he couldn't stop eating it because it was so delicious:). I used my favorite wing sauce by Ken's. I also used the homemade Hidden Valley Ranch packet to make ranch dressing."
"I made this for Christmas Eve and it was a HUGE hit! I used Marie's Chunky Bleu Cheese dressing and even added about 1/2 cup more bleu cheese to that. Yummy and filling! Definitely a keeper.JRzepinski"
"I use Ken's Steakhouse brand blue cheese dressing and also Pepper Jack cheese if you like it with a kick!"
"Also very delicious with Blue Cheese dressing."
"This is the BEST! Like Peggy, everytime I make this dip people ask for the recipe. It is always the first thing to go at parties and I am always requested to bring it to events. I actually make it with Fat-Free Cream Cheese, Fat-Free or Light Ranch and Weight Watchers shredded cheese and it still tastes as good!"
"Everywhere I take this dip everyone requests the recipe...last night as I was preparing it I realized I did not have Ranch dressing, so i tried ceasar salad dressing instead, and it was very good!Debi"
"Loves this dip. I have made many variations. Clams instead of chicken. Added scallions. Garlic powder makes everything better."
"My family raved over this dish. I've made it a couple times and recommend heating it in the microwave or a crock-pot to speed up the process"
"A co-worker of mine makes this for carry in's at work, it's the first to go everytime, it's delicious!!"
"I put all the ingredients in a crock pot to keep the dip nice and craemy. Works really well."
