Reviews for Buffalo Chicken Dip
"Very tasty! This recipe is pretty similar to another version that I have made several times, except this one is layered instead of mixed all together. The only thing I did differently was to season the chicken mixture well with salt and pepper, onion and garlic powders, and parsley. I did also mix the hot sauce with the shredded chicken layer. Next time I will cover with aluminum foil and not let the cheese get too browned, so that it doesn't form a harder layer on top for the chips to cut through. Otherwise great recipe! Thank you!"
"This is delicious. The only thing I do differently is I top with cooked bacon that I chop. Delicious! A crowd favourite. As a Volunteer Field Editor for TOH, I enjoy testing various recipes!"
"I make this all the time and it's so popular! Even my non-cream cheese loving husband enjoys it. Agree that canned chicken makes it so easy, and blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing from a bottle is important. The buffalo sauce also matters, so get a good brand!"
"This recipe was a hit at my most recent Christmas party. The flavors are amazing and work together so well! The dip is really easy to make too!"
"I made the recipe according to directions with shredded rotisserie chicken from Costco, Texas Pete Buffalo wing sauce and Hidden Valley Ranch prepared dressing because it is what I had on hand. It came out okay. The flavor was good, but not great. I think if I were to make it again would use blue cheese dressing, and possibly even add some additional crumbled blue cheese, and a dash of Siracha maybe? I agree on the canned Kirkland chicken, very good and offers so many possibilities especially when trying to "whip" something up :)"
"I'm shocked at how many people here pooh-pooh the canned chicken. They clearly have never bought and eaten Costco Kirkland canned chicken breast. It's delicious, flavorful and I use it for chicken salad, white chicken chili, and appetizers like this. It's waaaaay more flavorful and meaty than a chicken breast! If you've never tried this inexpensive, nutritional and delicious canned chicken, try it. It's nothing like grocery store canned chicken and it's in lovely 7 ounce cans!"
"Love this dip. I actually have cravings for it. I use 4oz cream cheese and 4oz sour cream and mix with a1/2 packet of dry ranch dressing mix. I grill chicken breast tenders on a Forman grill. Shred cooked chicken with a hand mixer. Mix chicken with hot sauce. Top cream mix with chicken, top chicken w/cheese and top cheese w/blue cheese crumble. After baking, I garnich w/chopped green onion."
"This is so delicious my family devoured it! Wasn't a scrap left. Can't wait to make it again!"
"It's a favorite! I put everything in my crockpot and cook on high 1-2 hours, then turn to low for serving. I use 2 cups rotisserie chicken, Franks Red Hot sauce (and use less), 1 1/2 cups cheese and I use 1/4 cup ranch dressing with 1/4 cup sour cream. I really like the creaminess the sour cream adds. I also season the dip with some salt, pepper and onion powder. Frito scoops, pretzels, tortilla scoops and pita chips are all great with this."
