There's always a flurry of activity around the snack bar in my kitchen, especially when I set out a plate of these brownies. Topped with a fluffy chocolaty frosting, they really live up to their name.—Linda Hardin-Eldridge, Lake Alfred, Florida

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/3 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract


  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add
  • eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in
  • vanilla. Combine flour and cocoa; add to creamed mixture just until
  • combined. Stir in walnuts.
  • Spread into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350°
  • for 23-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center
  • comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
  • For frosting, in a small bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Beat in the
  • confectioners' sugar, cocoa, milk and vanilla until smooth. Spread
