Broadway Brownie Bars Recipe

Broadway Brownie Bars Recipe

I named these dessert bars for Broadway because they're a hit every time I serve them. I especially like to make these for the holidays, or for hostess gifts. They're always sure to please any sweet tooth! —Anne Frederick, New Hartford, New York

"These are really decadent but for some reason, my marshmallows didn't melt. By the looks of the picture, you can't even tell there is a marshmallow layer. I followed the directions exactly. Any suggestions? Did anyone else experience this? Mine look more like, "Rocky Road" than Broadway."

"These were really very good. Homemade always wins out over a boxed mix! I actually made brownie sundaes with these which for some maybe a bit over the top, they are however delicious on their own!"

"I wont make these again. The marshmallows come away from the brownie. They are impossible to cut neatly. Not near enough chocolate/cocoa to make a brownie base. Waste of ingredients!"

"A 4 star rating because if sounds so good! I'm wondering if it would affect the recipe very much if the nuts were left out. My family doesn't like them very much and one is allergic."

"This recipe is identical to one I've used for 30+ years! The only difference I find is that mine are called Rocky Road Bars--or Helen's Sin Bars, lol. This recipe is a hit whenever I make it at Christmas. Yes, these are labor intensive, but the results are worth it for how good they are! I'm not sure that anyone who is a mild/milk chocolate lover would like these. These are so rich, so deep chocolate that they are perfect for a true chocolate lover."

"Oh Anne! Decadent! Delicious! Orgasmic! You a Broadway star! I made a batch for me & a batch for a neighbor. I did add a little homemade peanut butter to the brownie batter & to the topping to 1 batch - couldn't help myself. Yuummm! Great name for this recipe!"
