Blueberry Orange Blast Recipe

I developed this healthful, pretty smoothie after our annual blueberry-picking trip. Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants. — Diane Neibling, Overland Park, Kansas
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 5 min. YIELD:4 servings


  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) vanilla yogurt
  • 1 medium banana, sliced and frozen
  • 1 cup frozen unsweetened blueberries
  • 1/2 cup silken firm tofu


  • 1. In a blender, combine all ingredients; cover and process until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses; serve immediately. Yield: 4 servings.

3/4 cup: 140 calories, 2g fat (1g saturated fat), 3mg cholesterol, 49mg sodium, 27g carbohydrate (22g sugars, 2g fiber), 5g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 starch, 1 fruit.

"This recipe is fantastic! I'm not a fan of tofu, so I substituted plain Greek yogurt. The smoothie was delicious and definitely a new favorite!"

"We try a lot of smoothie recipes for the great way it uses up fruit. My son says this is his favorite. I didn't have any tofu on hand, so I used a small carton of Greek yogurt instead of the vanilla yogurt and tofu. I had to thin with a little more o.j. but the results were really tasty with no added sugar or fat."
