Just when we thought rich and chewy blondies couldn't get any better, our home economists dreamed up this luscious sundae version. Topped with creamy vanilla ice cream and a sweet butterscotch sauce, this dessert takes decadence to the next level. —Taste of Home Test Kitchen

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 4-1/2 cups vanilla ice cream


  • In a large bowl, beat the egg, brown sugar, butter and vanilla.
  • Combine flour and salt; gradually beat into egg mixture. Fold in
  • chips.
  • Transfer to a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake at 350° for
  • 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes
  • out with moist crumbs (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack.
  • For sauce, in a large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in the brown sugar,

  • cream and salt. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 5 minutes or
  • until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat. Stir in vanilla. Cut
  • brownies into squares; serve with ice cream and sauce. Yield: 9
  • servings (1-1/2 cups sauce).
