Ranch dressing mix flavors this fast-to-fix mixture that's packed with shredded cheese and is made to go with pretzels. It's one of those snacks that when you start eating it, you can't stop!   • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer
  • 1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pretzels

  1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, beer and dressing mix until smooth. Stir in cheddar cheese. Serve with pretzels. Yield: 3-1/2 cups.

"I've made this for a few years now. It is always asked for during football season. The kids love it as much as my hubby does. The beer certainly affects the taste. Use something you love to drink."

"Everyone loves this. The only down side, you have to eat it all, the leftovers are not good, as the beer goes stale. But it is so good, it shouldn't be a problem eating it all!"

"Fantasic go-to dip! I used a lager, and couldn't taste it using 1/3 cup, so I added more to thin the dip to the consistency I wanted. I didn't put the whole 2 cups of cheese in either, as one to 1 1/2 cups seemed sufficient. It's a bit salty, even after adding the extra beer. I don't mind though!"

"A variation on this dip is a definite favorite in my family and work place. I add chopped green onions which gives it a bit more flavor and we use liquid ranch dressing instead of the dry mix. ."
