Basil and lemon-pepper really come through with this speedy way to dress up frozen green beans. "My husband and I find that being retired does not mean we're idle," remarks Marilou Candela of Licking, Missouri. "Some days we're very busy, so this side dish is a favorite."
- 2 cups frozen French-style green beans
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
- Salt to taste, optional
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes or until beans are tender. Yield: 3 servings.
