  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) quick-rise yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 egg

1 serving equals 181 calories, 7 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 33 mg cholesterol, 140 mg sodium, 25 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 4 g protein.


  1. In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. In a saucepan, heat milk, butter and water to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients; beat just until moistened. Add egg and remaining flour; beat until smooth. Shape into a ball. Do not knead. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Use for Braided Coffee Cake or Coffee Cake Ring. Yield: 1 recipe.
