Reviews for Basic Biscuits
"Oh my I want to shake your mother and father's hand for giving the world such an awesome woman. Your biscuits are wonderful a definite keeper in my recipes."
"Delicious! I was happy to find a recipe that didn't require butter milk, I rarely keep it on hand. The biscuits were very tender and flavorful."
"These came out so perfect! Thank you! LOVE them. Next time I'll have to double the recipe because these only lasted 10 minutes!"
"Perfect basic biscuit! Just a touch of sweetness, baked up nice and big & flaky."
"Made exactly as recipe read. Awesome biscuit! Moist and flaky, rose nicely. Tasted a little sweeter than what I'm used to. Next time might reduce sugar or honey a little bit. Batter is really moist but sets up well with a little flour and pats out nicely."
"I didn't have milk so I used evaporated milk and I didn't have the time or space to roll the dough out so I made them into drop biscuits. Despite my changes this was delicious, fluffy inside and crispy outside."
"These were the best biscuits I have ever made. Very moist and flakey. I used one third whole wheat flour, just a splash more milk, and grated cheddar cheese.I will make these often."
"Sub. 1/2 cup shortening with 1 stick of real butter(diced small), Great Biscuit!Butter cost a little more but well worth it."
"I've been using this recipe to make biscuits for several years now and they always turn out great! Tender and flaky, just a little sweet, delicious--always a hit!"
"This is the 2nd time in my life I ever tried making biscuits.. First time my Ex called them Ellie May Biscuits. This time they turned out good. Definately will use this recipe again !!!!"
"This is an easy and quick recipe for biscuits. Yes, the dough is sticky. Yes, that is the way it is supposed to be so you can add the flour as it is kneaded. This way you do not add too much flour. It is probably is great as a drop biscuit as well but for any rolled biscuit, you always add the last amount of flour as the dough is kneaded."
"The Best Biscuit Recipe for taste and beauty! Delicious and everyone wants more!"
"I made these biscuits because of a craving, and I was so disappointed! Was to sticky to roll, so I dropped them on the cookie sheet and they came out flat! I even tried putting them in a cupcake pan so they'd hold, and they were still a flop. Would not make this again."
"My family loved these biscuits. I followed the directions exactly and they were perfect. They were easy to roll out and were tender and golden brown when done. Now I have to make them again. Some peple said they were drop biscuits. Theyre not. The dough is sticky but needs to be. Once you you add flour to the table before rolling it out it comes out perfect. Its the way it should be. Thanks for the recipe !"
"nice site may help to teach us many new recipe daily."
"The biscuit taste very good but it is a drop biscuit."
"These would make a good brunch biscuit"
"Perfect addition to any soup or stew meal. These biscuits are so easy to make and come out perfect each time!"
"The dough seemed too sticky to roll out after I finished adding the ingredients and I didn't want to add as much extra flour as it seemed like it would need. Instead, I just scooped out the dough with a spoon and made drop biscuits. It worked great and they tasted wonderful with a sweet gravy."
"I made these with whole wheat & left out the honey (as my husband doesn't like honey!). Instead of kneading & rolling out the dough I just left it in the mixer for slightly longer & hand formed the dough into balls. They were delicious!"
"Yummy, fluffy, soft, easy to make biscuits!! Highly recommend this recipe--the honey gives it a nice mild flavor instead of the bitter biscuits that come out of other recipes. If you're looking for an easy, yummy, biscuit recipe, this is a GREAT one!"
"I've made this biscuit recipe over and over again. It is very good and fairly easy to make."
"I have to agree with Crystal Dawn, I had the best results with these biscuits where others just didn't make the grade. This will now be my go-to recipe for biscuits."
"Would not use Splenda - side effect is weight gain."
