The banana and coffee pairing may seem a little different, but sip this creamy smoothie, and you’ll realize you’ve discovered a winner. Mia Werner of Madison, Wisconsin submitted the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup 2% milk
  • 1/3 cup coffee yogurt
  • 1 small banana, frozen, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Dash ground nutmeg

Directions

In a blender, combine all ingredients; cover and process for 45-60 seconds or until blended. Pour into a chilled glass. Serve immediately. Yield: 1 serving.

"The combination of coffee and banana is rare but as I found after making this recipe, they make a great pair! Very yummy"

"I wasn't able to find coffee yogurt so I substituted 1/4 c of leftover brewed coffee and reduced the milk by 1/4 c. Delicious! For an extra protein boost in the morning - I also tried this with adding a scoop of whey protein powder - great start to my day!"
