Balsamic Salad Dressing Recipe
Alice Coate's tomato juice-based dressing offers a nice combination of tangy and tart with only a trace of fat. "We like our salad dressing tart, but you may want to add a little more sugar if that suits you family's tastes better," suggests the Bryan, Texas reader.
- 3/4 cup tomato juice
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine all ingredients; shake well. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 1 cup.
One serving (2 tablespoons) equals 18 calories, trace fat (0 saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 397 mg sodium, 4 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, trace protein. Diabetic Exchange: Free food.
