Reviews for Bacon Cheeseburger Rice
"I'm always looking for quick meals to put together and this one is definitely a keeper. It can be put together in a flash and it still has lots of flavor."
"The flavors were great! The sweetness from the BBQ sauce didn't make it too sweet. I followed the directions exactly and it came out great. Loved it."
"if you're looking for something quick and easy to make, but could care less how it tastes, this is it. This was the most bland dish I've made in a very long time. I'm being generous and giving 3 stars only because it is a good base recipe that can be made decent with a few additions from the spice rack..."
"I don't.care for the BBQ sauce. to SWEET I prefer spicy like org. Rotel!"
"This was GREAT! I doubled the recipe to have some to freeze. I used instant brown rice and it turned out just fine. I think it would be just as good with ketchup in lieu of the barbecue sauce."
"Really good and very easy to make. I might omit the pickles as they didn't do a lot for us, but all in all this was simple and tasty."
"I thought this recipe would have significantly more flavor than it did. I even used a spicy BBQ sauce. Will not make again."
"This is a go to recipe. When I bring leftovers to work, everyone stops and asks what smells so yummy. I've given out the recipe several times. Great comfort food!"
"EVERYONE ate it!! With four boys and a picky husband who usually requires a side of beef at every meal, it's increasingly difficult to please everyone. This is a winner!"
"I didn't have pickles, so I used some dill pickle relish mixed in with the water and sauce instead, and it came out pretty good. I also cooked the ground beef in the same pan that I cooked the bacon in, and that helped add to the flavor."
"Made this last night - it's a great idea and was an easy recipie to make, but it's not something that I would make again - I think that it needed a bit of salt added and maybe more barbeque sauce."
"Easy to make. I like it better w/o pickles. This dish has bold flavor"
"Extremely delicious, quick and easy to make. An absolute instant favorite. I did use finely chopped fresh onion."
"It puts together easily and the entire family loved it!"
"Loved this! Fast, easy, and delicious!"
"This was delicious and a great way to do something different with ingredients probably everyone has on hand. I used real chopped onion instead of minced. I used a spicy brown mustard instead of regular. I also cooked the minute rice in beef broth separately then added it to the skillet b/c I thought 2 cups of rice would be too much. I ended up adding 1 cup cooked rice (in broth). It was fabulous. The crunch of the bacon and pickles really makes it."
"I used turkey bacon and it was a pleasant substitute. I also substituted dill pickle relish instead of the chopped dill pickles. (Notice it's NOT sweet pickle relish) I thought this dish was very easy to make, it had a very good flavor. With the 3 cups of instant rice it was a bit dry for our taste buds, so I would probably cut back to 2 - 2 1/2 cups minute rice. This should keep the texture a little more moist. I used Famous Dave's Rich & Saucy when I made this."
"Very good quick recipe when you need something fast. Leftovers are excellent too."
"Nice in a pinch and need something easy and fast."
"Family loves this. Good leftover."
"Made this last night and then served leftovers over shredded lettuce and tomato slices. Delish!!! I used ground turkey and instant brown rice for a healthy swap and will definitely make it again!!"
"I switched the BBQ sauce for ketchup my family loved it"
"This recipe was amazing good. My 3 kids loved it and ask for it all the timel. Great flavors with it all."
"This dish was super simple and delicious! 5 out of 5 in our family voted to have this meal again and even add it as a regular dish."
"Love this recipe so do my kids. I do cut down on the barbecue sauce but replace it with ketchup.Maybe only about 1/4 cup. Make it all the time."
"Great weeknight dinner! Unique flavor, but we enjoyed it! Loved the crunch of the pickles, totally different than anything else I've made. I used long grain brown rice and just added more water and increased the cooking time."
"It sounded good for something diffferent but I am not quite sure everything flowed together. I wish I knew which barbecque sauce they used. The bacon and the pickles added a strange crunch that didn't seem to go with the texture of the rest of it, but the flavor wasn't too bad just not what I was expecting I guess. Or maybe the rice didn't fit in it.... I couldn't really decide. Just different...."
"This was an easy recipe. It took me more like 45 min. to prepare and cook. It has a wonderful taste to it. It looks like it is going to be dry when you start eating it but its really not! No extra sauce needed!! I will make this again."
"my preschool and toddler loved it! We added some veggies by eating it topped with tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and avocados"
"Yum yum! So good and so easy! I will make this again and again."
"This is another family favorite. My kids just love this!"
