Miniature leaf-shaped cookie cutters make it easy to create this autumn leaves scene atop any one of your favorite cupcake recipes. —Taste of Home Food Styling Team

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 ounces) caramel frosting or frosting of your choice
  • Cupcakes of your choice
  • Spiced gumdrops

Directions

  • 1. Frost cupcakes. Roll out gumdrops to 1/8-in. thickness; cut out with 1-in. to 1-1/2-in. leaf-shaped cookie cutters. Pile leaves on cupcakes as desired. Yield: varies.

"I thought this was such a beautiful and simple idea. I followed the very simple instructions and had excellent results. To get the multi-colored leaves, press together two or three different colored gumdrops and roll. You can re-roll out the scraps to get even more. What a great idea, thanks!"

"I'm trying to rate this recipe and it won't let me change the Star rating. I would give it a one or a zero. This isn't really a recipe for cupcakes, it's for the topping.

There is no easy way I can see to roll out gumdrops. It was not explained. I tried to roll them out from the bag and again after trying to soften in the microwave (tried after different amounts of time). Nothing worked except eventually they got too sticky! Maybe attaching a video or much more detailed instructions would work. They looked cute and I would have loved them to work."
