"If using homemade applesauce omit the brown sugar (if desired) as it already has the sugar in it. Try with pork chops or pork tenderloin. Bake in oven at 350 if desired for a change."

"This is one of my family's favorite recipes. I love it because it comes together quickly and that you can change it up depending on your family. I typically use a barbeque sauce with a little more spice to it and I stead of chunky applesauce, I use whatever I have in the house. Either way, it's turned out well every time I've made it and both kids and adults have enjoyed it. Definitely in my rotation."

"This is wonderful, I made it for my Son's friends birthday and everyone just raved about it. The recipe is so easy to make and it looks and tastes like you spent all day on it. I used a smoky BBQ sauce and it was good but I think I will try a different one next time. I used chicken thighs because I was having so many people over and it was more economical, it was still really good. Thank you for submitting this recipe it is a keeper."

"I made this last night, and we really enjoyed this recipe! I used no-sugar applesauce (the non-chunky kind), and Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ Sauce. We don't like things very spicy, so I only added 1/4 tsp chili powder. I also browned it on the stove, and baked it in the oven at 350 for about 20-25 minutes, as some other reviewers did. I shredded the remaining chicken breasts last night in the sauce, and am making pulled bbq chicken sandwiches tonight. I'll be making this again!"

"Oh my! This dish was absolutely full of flavor. I had four very large chicken breasts so I baked in the oven at 350 degrees for 50 mins. I used Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy BBQ sauce. The taste was awesome and the chicken came out so moist, you could cut it with a fork. A Keeper...."

"This chicken was awesome. Made it tonite along with the garlic parmesan orzo and the broccoli side dish recipie (also from this website). I also didn't have chunky applesauce so I took the advice of another and cut up a small apple and mixed in with regular applesaue. I browned the chicken on the stove but instead of finishing to cook it on the stove I decided to put it in a 350 degree oven and baked it the rest of the time which was about 20 mins. It really absorbed the flavors of the sauce. The six of us in my family really liked the flavor."

"Made this for my family (and my very picky son) and it was a true hit! The flavor is very good and it kept the chicken very moist. I can see this sauce being used on pork chops, ribs, drumsticks, etc. and it being a 'go-to' sauce because of its ease to make. Great recipe! I also like that it is low in sodium per serving.
