When the weather outside is frightful, curl up indoors with this delightful brew from Edna Jones of Orlando, Florida.

  • 1 cup water
  • 4 whole allspice
  • 2 individual black tea bags
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple juice or cider
  • 2 tablespoons honey

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water and allspice just to a boil; add tea bags. Remove from the heat; cover and steep for 3 minutes. Discard allspice and tea bags. Stir in apple juice and honey; heat through. Yield: 2 servings.

"This was excellent! I served it to a friend who was over to visit and she thought it was excellent as well. It is a smooth, warm, not to sweet drink that hits the spot on a cold day. I did use cinnamon instead of allspice. I will be making this again!"

"This is one of the most excellent hot drink recipes I've ever tried. It even works with ground allspice or without the honey (though not as sweet). Highly recommended!"
