Nicely spiced apple crisp gets a delightful twist from Marilynn Ostrander of Lehigh Acres, Florida. She drops sweet dollops of apricot jam over the traditional crumb topping. Served warm, it pairs well with ice cream or frozen yogurt.

"I made this just as it says except didn't add pecans because we don't both like them. Added slivered almonds instead. Using the jam gave me more ideas (uh oh trouble) so I have also made it using dollops of apple butter instead. It was good too but no better than apricot jam. Nice recipe."
