Apple-Cinnamon Snack Mix Recipe
- 3 cups Apple Jacks cereal
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup whole blanched almonds
- 1 cup chow mein noodles
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg white
- 1. In a large bowl, combine the cereal, nuts and chow mein noodles. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon and salt; stir in egg white. Pour over the cereal mixture and toss to coat. Transfer to a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Yield: 6 cups.
1 serving (3/4 cup) equals 418 calories, 31 g fat (3 g saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 164 mg sodium, 34 g carbohydrate, 6 g fiber, 8 g protein.

"I'd prepared this recipe when I'd seen it featured for the first time in Taste of Home!I DID adjust the ingredients to suit my tastes: I used 6 to 8 cups Apple Jackscereal, & if pecans aren't available, I used mini pretzel twists & 1 can of mixed nuts & 1 cup roasted peanuts. I took it to our fellowship time at our chapel & everyonereally liked it! This is a recipe I plan to prepare again-I got the ingredients to make it! Thank you, Virginia, for this recipe! Dawn E.
