“One Christmas, my sister-in-law mixed up this drink for our family gathering. I asked for the recipe and have been enjoying it's warm, spicy flavor ever since. It tastes great with a warm blanket and a good book!” —Dee Falk, Stromsburg, Nebraska

can't find unsweetened instant tea--can anyone help?

CWeeks I am struggling to find the unsweetened instant tea... can there be a substitution? I'm thinking you could leave the sugar out & use a sweetened mix. One without lemon. I was looking on-line to see if I could find a brand, but I'm not coming up with one.

This is very tasty! My sis-in-law and I love it. It is great as is, but to make it a little healthier, we cut the sugar down & replace half or more of the sugar with Splenda. You could experiment with that - to get the combo that works best for your taste buds. Now we don't feel so guilty drinking this yummy hot drink. I'm thinking a splash of bourbon or rum on a wintery chilly night might also be an idea....

I used to purchase a Chai Mix from the store but it got too expensive. I tried this recipe last night and LOVED it!! I still have to purchase a food processor so I can get the powdery consistency the way it should be, but I used my rolling pin last night to break down the dry milk as best as I could and it worked just fine. Had 2 hot cups last night and another this morning. I won't be without this mix made up in my kitchen ever again. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!
