We regret that 6 cans of butter beans were omitted from this recipe when entered on this site. They would be the third kind of bean mentioned in the recipe introduction. this is the most amazing stuff--i made this dish for our family hog roast and EVERYONE raved about them---they really are a meal all by themselves----yummy

My mom made this dish for my wedding reception and there wasn't any left when my new husband and I finally got a chance to eat. Since then I have made it for my family and my sister's wedding reception to rave reviews. It is easy to cut in 1/2 or even 1/3 as needed.
