I couldn't really imagine a pear pie until I bit into this succulent dessert. The sweet crumb topping is wonderful and the filling is a nice change from apple. Try it with a scoop of low-fat frozen yogurt. —Ruth Ann Stelfox of Raymond, Alberta

My family loved this recipe! It tastes similar to apple pie. I added cinnamon to the filling and sprinkled cinnamon and sugar across the top during baking.

Having an orchard with all kinds of fruits, when I was growing up, my mother always made pear pie. She made it just like apple or peach with 2 crusts. Just adjust the sugar for the extra sweetness of the pears. We always enjoyed it!
