I made these for my daughters 13th birthday party. She is a huge monkey fan! These were so easy to make and a huge hit with not only my daughter but her freinds as well. They looked just like the picture in the magazine!

I printed this recipe in September, and it has taken me three months to get up the courage to try it. I was afraid the ears would never stay on. Today I made them for a treat for my Sunday School class - of teenagers! My husband helped me and they are so cute we can't believe we did it! I don't like canned frosting, so I made homemade chocolate frosting and the bit needed for the red. The gels are so expensive I didn't want to pay three dollars for about the tablespoon or less of gel needed. I did buy the black gel as I thought it would be more difficult to make. We made half with blue eyes and half with green. They actually didn't take as long as I thought they would. I can see why they would be a hit at a bake sale!

Loved the recipe! I used mini vanilla wafers for the nose and mouth and I cut more vanilla wafers in half for the ears. My son's daycare is a peanut-free zone. They loved them!!!

My 5-year-old Grandson watched me do one cupcake and then he took over! Suggestion: use less batter to make a flatter cupcake or the ears may slide down the curved sides.

I made them for my son's 4th birthday party. Everyone thought they were so cute!! The only thing I shouldn't have done is put the peanut butter cookies on the cupcakes the night before. They were soggy in the morning, so I put new ones on.
