This is so good! I have a hard time getting my family to eat fresh cooked green beans, or even onions, but adding a little bit of bacon, and just a tiny bit of the grease, they eat it all up including my picky eaters! We are from the south and have an old cookbook that my mom just gave me and it has a similar receipe. I make this everytime we cook green beans now. LOVE IT!!!!

Re.Green Beans with Bacon ---Vinegar added to this recipe makes a wonderfull taste. A bit of the bacon grease will cut the tartness of the vinegar so that it is not too sharp. My Mom was a very good cook - mostly German recipes - and it sort of trickled down to my cooking also. Enjoy ! ! !
