80% would make again

I often roast a turkey just to have leftovers for this creamy casserole. It makes for a pretty presentation at potluck dinners.—Joyce Paul, Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan

I love this recipe - and make it all the time - but use chicken breasts - cooked and diced or sliced and I slice or dice the ham also. I actually prefer the sliced as it makes it more "cordon bleu" style.

I layer it as in recipe - but make the sauce with the swiss cheese included. After layering I throw in some chunked swiss and mozzarella to bubble up under the topping... As a shortcut I use a package of stuffing mix (Stove Top or other) if I want to save time.

I love this recipe - I put on a free lunch once a week for our town and teach our local moms how to cook. This is one of the favourites. I have made some adjustments to this recipe - mainly: it can be made with cooked chicken breasts - and if necessary ham slices and the topping can be substituted with Stove Top Stuffing. This just makes it more available on a daily basis - not necessarily reserved for after holidays.

Kudos to Joyce for this recipe. It is a winner
