My Grandma Lamar's Pound Cake

This recipe has been in Peggy Macdonald's of Spring, Texas' family for over 75 years. The flavor and texture of this cake is different.

Ingredients

10 lg. Eggs, seperated
1 lb. Butter (not margerine)
4-1/4 c. All-purpose flour
2-1/4 c. Granulated sugar
1/4 c. Whiskey of your choice (this is a must)

Directions

In medium mixing bowl, Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
In another medium mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together. Add the egg yolks and beat well. Add flour and whiskey; beat well. Add egg whites last, then beat on medium speed of mixer for about 5-minutes. Bake in 2 greased and floured loaf pans; 2-hours at 300-degrees F.
Cool completely for 4- hours before serving.
