Cassauga Recipe

Cassauga Recipe Rating 0

This recipe came from my late grandfather. Our family enjoyed this dessert at every holiday until someone took his life in oct 2003. Here recently I started to make it in his place and it's always a crowd favorite. I recently took it to my office christmas party where it was a hit. Everyone want the recipe, when i told them there was not recipe they were puzzled. You'll See what I mean

Directions

  • Put the pound cake and hersey bars in the freezer, make instant pudding and let set in fridge, remove from freezer and slice pound cake into half inch pieces set to the side , chop pecans and cherries( optional) set to the side; grade hersey bars, only shread one bar at a time with a carrot peeler as they tend to melt in your hand yummy and put them back in the freezer, mix wipping cream and sugar and set in fridge. Take a lg foil pan and layer pound cake, pudding, whipping cream, pecans, and hersey 2 or 3 times depending on the size of your pan. Last for christmas we like to finish with chopped red and green cherries on top. Yield: serves 15

    Notes:

This is easy and delicious and all prep can be done ahead of time. Shreading herseys will be most time consuming
