I was looking for a quick bread with a twist when a friend gave this to me a few years ago. I love it! I eat it plain, but a glaze of milk, powdered sugar and almond extract could be added over top.

Almond Poppy Seed Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup + 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 Tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 3 teaspooons almond extract

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl with a wooden spoon combine all ingredients and mix for 2 minutes. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Pour half of mixture into each pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Yield: serves 0
