I made these for our holiday church bazaar, as I wanted something pretty and different. I used walnuts since I was out of pecans, and baked them at 350deg. Also I wanted a larger cookie, so I only got 39, not 5 doz. I was very pleased and will make this yummy cookie again, using pecans. I also think you could use whatever one liked for the cherries, chips and pecans. I may experiment as this recipe is nice and basic. And they look like the picture!
