This vegetarian chili is zesty, but it also offers a slight hint of sweetness. Because it doesn't have to simmer for hours like other chili recipes, it's ideal for serving to drop-in visitors. Jeraldine Hall of Ravenden Springs, Arkansas

To cut down the sodium, I subbed no-salt added black beans for the ranch style. I think you could pretty much use whatever you have on hand; this recipe lends itself well to that. Was very well received by my husband and son. And the bulgur is a much better "meat" substitute than the TVP that you can buy.

Easy and delicious! Can't believe how much the bulgur is a perfect substitute for ground meat.

Made it yesteday and it was great. My husband and son saw the recipe and knew there was no meat otherwise I don't think they would have known. Great consistancy and flavor.

This is similar to a recipe we have used for years. We add a 1/2T of plain cocoa powder to it.Everyone loves it and doesn't believe there is no meat in it due to the flavor.

look in the cooked bean section near the Kidney and baked beans. Ranch-style beans are spicier- than baked beans.

I was thinking they were baked beans but that's just a guess.
