“We first had Aunt Dolly’s potpie at a family get-together,” recalls Mary Zinsmeister of Slinger, Wisconsin. “We loved it and were so happy she shared the recipe. Now, we make it almost every time we bake a ham.”

This was very simple and tasted great! I think we liked it even better the next day. I doubled the recipe and made two pot pies (we're a family of 9) and we're not into peas so I just used a bag of frozen corn instead. It was very yummy! Do be sure to let the potatoes set in the hot water for a little while, I did mine but not quite long enough which left them a little chewy, but still good!

Great taste and easy to make. Just make sure to let the potatoes sit in the hot water of awhile to soften.I did not have a pie crust, so I used crushed corn flakes sprayed with pam. Excellent.Highly recommend

Try with DEBUQUE brand canned ham - make sure to rinse ham before using ! Also try different flavoring or AuGratin potatoes !

can I use evaporated milk in recipe?

To cut the sodium you can use turkey ham, low sodium soups and fresh mushrooms instead canned. There is most likely high sodium in the package of pototaes also, but not sure how you can get around that. Dottie26
