Taste of Home features real recipes from real people, and our readers can win real cash when they enter recipes into our National Recipe Contests. Each year, more than 15,000 home cooks submit recipes to Taste of Home magazine in hopes of winning one of the publication's six national recipe contests.

Readers have a chance at some wonderful prizes for submitting the winning recipes. For example, the Grand Prize winner will receive $500 in cash…Second place wins dinner for four at the restaurant of the winner's choice. Ten runners-up will receive a free copy of one of our top-selling cookbooks.

Plus, one of our winners may be selected to appear on national television with Taste of Home Editor in Chief Catherine Cassidy. The Early Show on CBS gives viewers a "taste of home" by spotlighting some of the delicious prize winners in our national recipe contests.

carolee photoHarvesting A Winning Recipe: Carolee Ewell is from Utah and her Sesame Chicken Salad was a favorite of the judges. Taste of Home's editor-in-chief, Catherine Cassidy, called the dish "absolutely delicious." It was fresh and used lots of vegetables. And, you can make it as small or big as you want which makes it a great potluck dish.

recipe photoGarden Bounty Contest: When Taste of Home asked their readers for submissions for their Garden Bounty recipe contest, they were inundated with all manner of delicious dishes, from appetizers to salads to vegetarian entrees to fruit-laden desserts.After reviewing all the recipes, they found their winner: Kathryn Pehl from Prescott, Ariz. The judges could not resist her Spaghetti Squash with Red Sauce.

contest photoAward-Winning Cupcakes: Mary Bilyeu of Ann Arbor, Mich., took the top prize for the cupcake contest. Her winning recipe contains four types of chocolate and brewed coffee in both the cake the frosting. According to Taste of Home Editor in Chief Catherine Cassidy, it was this winning combination, as well as a tender cupcake and fluffy frosting, that made the recipe a stand-out.
