Country Flavor
When her mom told her she was hosting a party for a large group of out-of-towners, Cyndi Fynaardt of Oskaloosa, Iowa jumped right in to help.
Since most of the guests were coming from large cities to her parents’ farm, Cyndi came up with the “Welcome to the Country” theme pictured here. She decorated long tables with bandanna material for place mats, tying each bandanna to the one next to it. Pockets from old blue jeans held napkins and silverware. Toy tractors “drove” down the middle of the table. And by each plate, she placed a homemade pouch labeled “Feed” and filled it with roasted soybeans and candy corn. Soybeans and corn are the two main products that are grown on the family farm.
Thanks to Cyndi's decorating and her mom's menu (featured in the August/September magazine), the party was a down-home success!
