Newlywed's Chicken a la King

"The first time I invited my parents to dinner as a newlywed," says Teresa Coventry of Clarkston, Michigan, "I made a perfect chicken a la king. Before they left, I asked my mother if she wanted a jar of olives.

"She asked why I'd bought them if I didn't plan to use them. 'I needed the pimientos for the chicken,' I replied. She asked why I didn't just buy a jar of pimientos instead.

"I didn't realize they sold them already removed from the olives. Thirty years later, folks in our family still joke about pimientos growing in olives!"
