I live in a small town that is several miles from a fitness center. When a certified aerobics instructor moved into our neighborhood, some friends and I asked if she'd hold informal aerobic classes in my basement.
We agreed to pay her a small fee if she'd give our group a 1-hour workout two times a week. Being a stay-at-home mom, she was happy to meet with us and said it would give her a chance to exercise as well.
That was almost 10 years ago, and she's still giving us classes. Our group currently includes 10 women, who range in age from 65 to 75, and we're all dedicated.
I think working out with a group of friends is a wonderful incentive. I look forward to everyone visiting my home, and we all enjoy the social time together.
If you can't find an instructor who offers private lessons, consider following a fitness video together. You'll be surprised at the fun you'll have exercising.
