Bryan Fairlee of Fort Bragg, California, first heard this heartfelt prayer at a Rotary meeting:

There are people today who are sick and dying.
There are people today who are old and lonely.
There are people today who are at war and fighting.
There are people today who are cold and homeless.
There are people today who are thirsty and hungry.
These are the people we pray for today as we give thanks for our bounty. Amen.
