I plant purple-hull green beans every year in my vegetable garden. These beans are a beautiful deep purple color but turn green when cooked. They tend to stay firm when cooked and have a wonderful flavor. Any leftovers are great reheated or added to homemade soup. —Susan Taul, Hoover, Alabama
