Removing Corn Silk

I use a crumpled paper towel to gently brush the silk from corn. This works better for me than a vegetable brush…and the towel isn’t abrasive to the kernels. —Hilda Newcomer, Hagerstown, Maryland

Microwave each ear of fresh corn on high for 1 minute. While still warm, grab husk and silks from the top of the ear and peel downward. For any remaining silks, take a dry paper towel and rub the ear till they're gone. This method removes silks more completely than any other I've tried. - Beth Parker, Graysville, Alabama
