“Sour Cream Pound Cake is one of my favorite cake recipes,” writes Colleen Rogers of Charlotte, North Carolina. “I add 1/8 teaspoon of ground mace with the dry ingredients, and it really sparks the flavor.”
Since we are originally from Texas, we naturally love sweet potatoes, but this pound cake deserves to be a tradition in any home, whether you’re from the South, East, North or West. My Montana husband rancher loves it and I get great revues from ladies I’ve treated with it at various social events.
This recipe was a lucky experiment. I was going to make apple pound cake but found I had no apples. So, I used the blueberries and peaches I had on hand. I was a winning combination.—Nancy Zimmerman, Cape May Court House, New Jersey
