Basic Mashed Potatoes
Thanksgiving isn't complete without a bowl brimming with mashed potatoes. Here's a basic recipe that's simply delicious.
Peel and cube 6 medium russet potatoes (about 2 pounds). Place in a saucepan and cover with water. Cover and bring to a boil; cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until very tender. Drain well. Add 1/2 cup warm milk, 1/4 cup butter, 3/4 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper. Mash until light and fluffy. Yield: 6 servings.
