I used to work in a restaurant where minor burns from hot oil and hot soup were common. I’d run cold water over the burn for a moment, then apply a bit of toothpaste (not the gel variety). Once the sting stopped, I’d wash off the paste and have no blister and no mark. —Lynn S., Spooner, Wisconsin
