Stocking Utensil Holder

Begin by tracing the stocking onto tracing paper. Pin the pattern to a double layer of quilt batting and cut out stocking with a straight-edge scissors. Remove the pattern and pin the batting pieces together with edges matching. With a long running stitch, hand-stitch through both layers about 1/2in. from the outer edges (leave about 1 inch on top of the stocking unstitched). Use pinking shears to cut outside the stitched edge of the stocking leaving a narrow seam allowance.

Fold each layer of the top of the stocking to the outside to form a cuff. Make a small stitch in the center through both layers of cuff, leaving thread end on the outside. Tie the thread in a small bow and trim the ends as desired.
