To easily remove cakes from the pan, consider lining the pan with waxed paper. Place pan on a piece of waxed paper. Trace the shape of the pan onto the waxed paper, then cut out. Grease the pan; place the waxed paper in the pan and grease it. Remove the paper as soon as the baked cake is inverted onto a wire rack to cool.
Be sure your butter or cream cheese is softened before beginning.
