How To Seed and Slice (Peppers)

Bell Pepper

Holding the pepper by the stem, slice from the top of the pepper down, using a chef's knife. Use this technique to slice around the seeds when a recipe calls for julienned or chopped peppers.

Jalapeno Peppers

With gloves on, cut the jalapeno in half; remove and discard the seeds with the tip of a spoon or knife.

Make Pepper Rings

Run a paring knife around the top of the pepper to detach the core and membrane (ribs). Then twist and pull out the stem. With a spoon, scrape out any remaining seeds and membrane. Use a chef's knife to slice the pepper crosswise for rings.
