How to Peel Pearl Onions

Cut off the root end of each pearl onion. In a Dutch oven, bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Add pearl onions; boil 3 minutes.

Drain and rinse in cold water. Gently squeeze to pop the onion out of the skin, or use a pairing knife to carefully remove the outer layer.
